What is a Phase I study?

A Phase I study is the first stage that a drug is tested in humans and is most concerned with assessing the drug's safety. In most cases, these studies are conducted with 20 to 100 healthy volunteers. The goal of most Phase I studies is to determine safety and tolerability. This is done by studying how the human body absorbs, distributes, metabolizes, and excretes the drug and investigating all side effects at various dosage levels.

Why should I consider participating in a clinical trial?

There are many different reasons why individuals choose to take part in clinical trials.

Most volunteers value the opportunity to earn money while helping to advance scientific and medical research.

In addition, when you participate in a trial, you receive a comprehensive, study-specific physical examination at no cost.

Our clinic is a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility and we have built in all the luxuries to make your stay as much of a pleasure as it is a service to the medical community:
  • Participant Lounge - big screen television, integrated audio, professional class pool table, foosball table, PS2 and Xbox gaming stations
  • Computer Lab - flat screen monitors, Internet access, Microsoft Office suite
  • Private bathrooms and showers
  • Catered meals
